Stage 4 - new mowing regime and wildflowers appearing
A vital key part of our plan was for the grassy area to no longer be cut short, except for the path from the wooden footbridge to Newton Road. To this we have added a close-cut circle near the middle to give some social space. As you can see in Stage 3 this came in really useful for the cubs’ winding-down gathering after their work.
As soon as we stopped the regular short cutting, a display of wild flowers appeared. We will be seeding many more in the autumn ready for next year.
